CHEMISIL Neutral Ultimate AY/T Silicone, a one-component neutral silicone, alkoxy-based sealant that cures in contact with atmospheric humidity. Neutral sealant with permanent elasticity and excellent adhesion to most building materials.

Description

ADVANTAGES

  • Professional quality
  • Permanent elasticity and excellent adhesion to all construction materials
  • Excellent mechanical properties
  • Resistant to atmospheric effects, U.V. and ageing
  • Does not cause corrosion
  • Does not run in vertical joints
  • Complies with the ISO 11 600 standard
  • Compatible for most peripheral insulating glass seals as well as PVB films for safety glass

APPLICATIONS

Glazing sealant compatible with butyl sealants and PVB films.
Used for insulating and sealing building joints, watertight joints, insulation for installing glass in wooden, aluminum or PVC frames, for glazing, for sealing light roof domes, end joints between frames for windows, sills and walls, window frames and skylights and for sealing expansion joints.

Application

METHOD OF APPLICATION

PREPARATION

  • Surfaces must be very clean and dry, degreased and free of friable particles that could hinder adhesion. You can use acetone, alcohol or degreaser to clean the substrate.
  • Check the compatibility of Silicone Neutral Ultimate AY/T Chemisil with the substrates and, if necessary, apply a primer.

APPLICATION

  • If necessary, use joint cord to avoid three-point contact and observe the width/depth ratio defined by the following general rule: ideal joint depth = joint width / 2, with a minimum depth of 6mm.
  • The application temperature must be between +5°C and +40°C.
  • If necessary, apply masking tape to the sides of the joints to protect the places where it should not come into contact.
  • Cut the tip and place it in the cartridge. It is recommended that this cut be made at 45°C, in the diameter required for sealing the joint.
  • Silicone Neutral Ultimate AY/T Chemisil can be applied with a manual or pneumatic gun.
  • Apply the product in uniform and continuous strands for sealing. After application, use a spatula to smooth the joint and remove the masking tape before forming a film. It is very important to press the sealant well against the surface to be sealed.
  • The curing process starts when it comes into contact with the humidity in the air, which is done from the outside to the inside 2mm every 24 hours.

CLEANING

  • Tools can be cleaned with acetone before the sealant cures. After curing, it can only be removed by mechanical action.

PAINTING

  • Cannot be painted.
