The CHEMITOOL metric hand tap is used manually to open metric threads. Normally it should be used in a scaled manner, that is, following the cutting process, starting with the metric roughing tap (1 ring), moving to the intermediate tap (2 rings) and ending with the final finishing/grinding tap.
This type of metric taps was manufactured for the manual production of ISO standard metric threads in accordance with the DIN13 standard in through and blind holes in steel, non-ferrous metals with a hardness of 800 N/mm2.
The CHEMITOOL metric round die in accordance with DIN223, DIN EN 22568 norm, is used manually to create external metric threads. They normally have three or more cutting edges, being used in manual screwdrivers or even lathes. The internal geometry (holes) of the round die serves to quickly and constantly remove the chips during the threading process.
These types of metrics round dies were manufactured for the manual production of external metric ISO threads in accordance with DIN13, non-ferrous metals with a hardness of 800 N/mm2.
