Quick Info Categories: Tag:

CHEMISIL Neutral Ultimate AYS Silicone is a one-componentneutral silicone, Alcoxy-based sealant that cures in contact with atmospheric humidity, suitable for sanitary applications.

Description

ADVANTAGES

  • Permanent elasticity and excellent adhesion to all construction materials.
  • Excellent mechanical properties.
  • Resistant to atmospheric effects, UV rays and aging.
  • Resistant to various chemicals.
  • Does not cause corrosion.
  • Does not run in vertical joints.
  • Prevents mold formation in silicone due to the special mixture.
  • Complies with ISO 11 600.
  • With fungicidal properties

APPLICATIONS

Used for insulating and sealing construction joints, kitchen and sanitary joints, watertight joints, insulation joints for installing glass in wooden, aluminum or PVC frames, for glazing, for sealing lightweight roof domes, end joints between frames for windows, sills and walls, shutter frames and skylights and for sealing expansion joints.

Application

METHOD OF APPLICATION

PREPARATION

  • Surfaces must be very clean and dry, degreased and free of friable particles that could hinder adhesion. You can use acetone, alcohol or degreaser to clean the substrate.
  • Check the compatibility of Chemisil Neutral Ultimate AYS Silicone with the substrates and, if necessary, apply a primer.

APPLICATION

  • If necessary, use joint cord to avoid three-point contact and observe the width/depth ratio defined by the following general rule: ideal joint depth = joint width / 2, with a minimum depth of 6mm.
  • The application temperature must be between +5°C and +40°C.
  • If necessary, apply masking tape to the sides of the joints to protect the places where it should not come into contact.
  • Cut the tip and place it in the cartridge. It is recommended that this cut be made at 45°C, in the diameter required for sealing the joint.
  • Chemisil Neutral Ultimate AYS Silicone can be applied with a manual or pneumatic gun.
  • Apply the product in uniform and continuous strands for sealing. After application, use a spatula to smooth the joint and remove the masking tape before forming a film. It is very important to press the sealant well against the surface to be sealed.
  • The curing process starts when it comes into contact with the humidity in the air, which is done from the outside to the inside 2mm every 24 hours.

CLEANING

  • Tools can be cleaned with CHEMICLEAN SEALANT REMOVER or CHEMICLEAN INDUSTRIAL CLEANING WIPES before the sealant cures. Once cured, it can only be removed by mechanical action. can be cleaned with acetone before the sealant cures. After curing, it can only be removed by mechanical action.

PAINTING

  • Cannot be painted.
