Quick Info SAP: CH022 Categories: Tag:

CHEMISIL Neutral Ultimate MF Silicone is a one-component sealant with a neutral base, which cures in contact with atmospheric humidity and is MEKO-free (product harmful to the environment and health). Sealant with permanent elasticity effect and excellent adhesion on most building materials

Description

ADVANTAGES

  • Permanent elasticity and excellent adhesion to all construction materials.
  • Excellent mechanical properties.
  • Movement accommodation up to 25%.
  • Resistant to atmospheric effects, U.V. and ageing.
  • Resistant to various chemicals.
  • Does not cause corrosion.
  • Does not run in vertical joints.
  • Prevents the formation of mold on the silicone due to the special mixture.
  • Complies with the ISO 11 600 standard.

APPLICATIONS

The product is recommended for sealing joints in environments where mold can form (bathrooms and kitchens), as it prevents the formation of mold. Due to its excellent adhesion, the product is suitable for sealing and bonding various construction materials (concrete, brick, wood, steel, aluminum, various types of plastic, foamed concrete, ceramics, plasterboard, glass, metal, porcelain, styrofoam and enamel).

It can also be used for glazing, installation of glass in wooden, aluminum and PVC frames, for mounting skylights, sealing expansion joints on facades and floors, for final joints between window frames, sills and walls, shutter frames, among others.

The product is also suitable for elastic sealing and bonding in the power generation industry, machinery, vehicles, and shipbuilding.

Application

METHOD OF APPLICATION

PREPARATION

  • Surfaces must be very clean and dry, degreased and free of friable particles that could hinder adherence. You can use acetone, alcohol or degreaser to clean the substrate.
  • Check the compatibility of the Neutral Silicone Ultimate MF Chemisil with the substrates and, if necessary, apply a primer.

APPLICATION

  • If necessary, use joint cord to avoid three-point contact and observe the width/depth ratio defined by the following general rule: ideal joint depth = joint width / 2, with a minimum depth of 6mm.
  • The application temperature must be between +5°C and +40°C.
  • If necessary, apply masking tape to the sides of the joints to protect the places where it should not come into contact.
  • Cut the tip and place it in the cartridge. It is recommended that this cut be made at 45°C, in the diameter required for sealing the joint.
  • Ultimate MF Chemisil Neutral Silicone can be applied with a manual or pneumatic spray gun.
  • Apply the product in uniform and continuous strands for sealing. After application, use a spatula to smooth the joint with soapy water and remove the masking tape before forming a film. It is very important to press the sealant well against the surface to be sealed.
  • The curing process starts when it comes into contact with the humidity in the air, which is done from the outside to the inside 2mm every 24 hours.

CLEANING

  • Tools can be cleaned with acetone before the sealant cures. After curing, it can only be removed by mechanical action.

PAINTING

  • Cannot be painted.
