Application
APPLICATIONS
- For bonding even with heavy loads due to its reinforcement with glass fibers, carpentry in general, construction of stairs, doors and windows in aluminum or wood.
- Gluing corner joints in aluminum or wood.
- For various montage collages.
- Compatible with natural stone.
- Various industrial sectors.
METHOD OF APPLICATION
PREPARATION
- Surfaces must be very clean and dry, degreased and free of friable particles that could hinder adherence. You can use acetone, alcohol or degreaser to clean the substrate.
- Check the compatibility of CHEMIMOUNT Multi-Fibre Mounting Adhesive with the substrates and if necessary, apply a primer.
APPLICATION
- The glue is applied in a strip on one side of one of the parts to be joined.
- When gluing non-absorbent materials together (material moisture <8%), the glue must be “finely sprayed” with water to obtain full hardening.
- Parts must be joined within the skinning times.
- After joining, the parts must be fixed/compressed until functional soundness is achieved.
- Excess glue must be removed while still fresh.
- For joint thicknesses >2.5 mm, the drying, compression and complete hardening times are clearly superior, and bonding cannot be performed with a glue thickness at the joint ≥5 mm.
- The application temperature must be between +7°C and +30°C.
- CHEMIMOUNT Multi-Fibre Mounting Adhesive can be applied with a manual or pneumatic gun.
CLEANING
- Tools can be cleaned with acetone before the sealant cures. After curing, it can only be removed by mechanical action.
PAINTING
- Glued parts should only be painted after the glue has completely hardened; if they are painted beforehand, bubbles may form in the paint.
RESTRICTIONS OF USE
Polyolefins (among others PE, PP) cannot be bonded without prior treatment, eg plasma treatments or corona effect.
When bonding to rigid polystyrene surfaces, it is always recommended to apply a primer
